A little LUSH haul

September 13th, 2010 · 4 Comments · Beauty

The one shop I was adamant that we swing by while visiting Chicago?  LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics!

Yes, I was more excited to peruse the bath goodies than do just about anything else on the afternoon we allocated for shopping on Michigan Avenue.  Such a fanatic… I know.

Sadly, my town does not have a Lush shop (the closest one is probably in Canada) so I typically must place product orders online.  There is something quite special about experiencing Lush in person.  It’s always a treat to smell the latest concoctions first hand, indulge in the fresh face mask bar, and bank memories of the myriad of colors and scents.  When you first walk in (or really, as soon as you arrive on the correct block) your olfactory sensors are greeted with one base scent that can only be classified as that of a Lush shop.  If you’ve ever stopped by one of the shops, you know exactly what I refer to.

I picked up three items for myself, the boy picked up three things, and we got my mom a Karma Kream per her request.  Not much more than that would fit in our expertly (jam) packed luggage.  I got a Flosty Gritter bubble bar, a Happy Blooming bath melt, and a Sakura bath bomb.

Enjoy the pictures!

(Minus the Karma Kream!)

Happy Blooming smells like cherries, and will yield three baths.  It is loaded with soothing calamine and cocoa butter.

Flosty Gritter smells like fluffy vanilla sugar and lavender, fit for a glitter princess!  I will break this chunk into two baths worth of crumbles, most likely.  Maybe three!

Sakura bath bomb has notes of mimosa, sakura (cherry) blossom, jasmine, and gardenia.  I’m quite looking forward to this one, it will be like springtime in a tub.

I’m very pleased with my purchases!  Now,  I leave you with the aftermath of handling Flosty Gritter…

  1. I need the glitter ball… Zach always comments on how I’m glittery ( I honestly think I just attract glitter, although I’m sure my love of all things shimmery or lustre-y doesn’t help) but with that bad boy I feel like I’d be a walking fairy (:

  2. I love it! Reading this makes me want to go straight back to the Lush store and experience the hand massage treatment again. How was the bubble bar?!?

    • Hi Miss Rian!! I haven’t used this bubble bar yet, but I’ve loved all of the ones I’ve tried so far :) !! I want one of those hand massages! xoxo
